SAILS Washington currently provides Community Inclusion Services across the Seattle Metropolitan Area (WA Region 2).

What is Community Inclusion?
SAILS Washington partners with the Developmental Services Administration and the PASRR team to provide you with meaningful activities in your community. Do you enjoy hiking, cooking classes, arts and crafts, walks with the neighborhood club, … the list is endless? Do you want to make friends?
We want to help you get out and enjoy your life by doing the things you love to do or want to try with people in your community.

how to Access Vocational Services
Reach out to your DDA Case Manager or PASRR Case Manager and ask for SAILS Washington to provide your Community Inclusion and Engagement Services!

Vocational Services admission criteria:
a. The services requested fall within the services offered by SAILS Washington Vocational
Services.
b. SAILS Washington can adequately and safely meet the needs of the client served.
c. The client does not require Vocational Services employees to administer medication
during the hours the client is being served by SAILS Washington. Vocational Services
employees do not prescribe, dispense, administer, or physically control the medication.
d. SAILS vocational staff do not provide personal care or toileting service to client. If
needed, the parent, guardian or residential staff will be onsite to provide to client.
e. The client has been authorized for funding through the County, Division of Vocational
Rehabilitation (DVR) or third party to pay for Vocational Services. The client or their
guardian, if applicable, will be required to sign a private pay agreement with SAILS
Washington
The client:
i. Lives within the services area.
ii. Is 18 years of age or older.
iii. Chooses to work in a community setting.
iv. Is able to benefit from Vocational Services as determined by the SAILS Director.
v. Can learn to travel independently and/or have access to either public
transportation or private transportation. SAILS vocational staff do not transport clients to job sites.
vi. Has the skills and behaviors necessary to work independently or, with some help, in
a community job setting.
vii. Has the support of family and friends and residential staff (if applicable) for
community employment.
viii. Is willing to complete intakes process and sign all necessary release forms.
ix. Exhibits no harmful behavior to themselves or others.
xi. Is eligible to work in the United States.
xii. Demonstrates a willingness to follow the guidelines of the program and employer.
xiii. Is not under the influence of controlled substances, including drugs and alcohol.
xiv. Is willing to accept job coaching services.
xv. Is willing to be fingerprinted and submit to a background check at the request of an
employer or SAILS.
