SAILS Washington is a DSHS Community Trainer authorized to train and certify Washington State Home Care Aides as well as Residential providers.

SAILS Washington provides accredited quality instruction in state-required basic caregiver training and continuing education that qualifies a person to work in a variety of settings including adult family homes, boarding homes and private homes.Washington State requires that all Long Term care workers complete a total of 75 hours of DSHS approved Training.



Basic Adult CPR/First Aid

This course meets all OSHA/L&I requirements. Certification is valid for 2 years.


HCA Core Basic Training

40 Hour Course

Core Basic Training is a 40-hour course consisting of classroom instruction and hands on skills training. This course teaches the basic knowledge and skills needed to assist in providing high-quality care.  Population Specific is a 30-hour course consisting of different population specific curricula. *Core Basic Training ($200 if taken separately) and Population Specific ($150 if taken separately) are both required to meet the 70 training hours necessary for Home Care Aide certification. 


Safety Training

3 Hour Course

Safety training helps you stay safe and avoid injury and illness related to performing services and support as a long term care (LTC) worker. This training is designed to help you take ownership of your own safety and health and to take action to protect the safety and health of clients in your care.



2 Hour Course

A part of the new hire process in which a new employee is given information such as agency performance standards, policies and procedures.
